RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial for William A. “Whitey” Adams Sr. was celebrated  Saturday at St. Athanasius–St John Church, Rumford, with the Rev. Alfred Jacques as celebrant. Altar assistant was George Gionet, and organist was Mark Belanger.

Music selections included “How Great Thou Art,” “The Lord is My Shepherd,” “Amazing Grace,” “Ave Maria,” and “On Eagles Wings.” Readings were given by granddaughters Melanie Amero Grossbard and Beth Bowen Mecozzi.

The eulogy was given by grandson Brett Amero.

Pallbearers were Brett Amero, Scott Amero, Zachary Amero, Seth Grossbard, Bret Poi and Matthew Starr. Interment will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Auburn. A reception followed in the parish hall of St Athanasius–St. John Church. Arrangements were under the care of Meader and Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
