FARMINGTON — Sexual Assault and Violence Emergency Services of Farmington announces that Jeb Murphy has filled the position of community outreach and education coordinator, a position left recently by Julia Terry. Murphy, a current instructor at Central Maine Community College and theater critic for The Coastal Journal, hopes to complement the already experienced staff and bring a greater presence in the media and electronic community, as well as continue SAVES work with victims and volunteers.
Murphy graduated with a bachelor’s of fine arts in communications degree from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus, in Brookville, N.Y., in 2005. He continued his education, earning his master’s degree in writing from Rowan University in 2008.
For nearly 30 years, SAVES has helped people in Franklin County recover from the trauma of sexual violence. Through educational programs designed to reshape common attitudes and beliefs that make sexual violence common, SAVES also works to prevent sexual violence.
