WILTON — An East Dixfield couple are willing to put in the extra effort for the return of two kayaks with paddles taken from their backyard sometime during the week of July 12.
Ruth and Richard Simcock are putting up posters and are also offering a $500 cash reward for the return or information leading to a conviction of the person who helped themselves to the Old Town kayaks, Ruth said.
Ruth said it was not only the approximate $1,000 value of the kayaks, but that they were taken from their yard. They found kayaking to be great exercise and something they really enjoy, she said.
The couple discovered their loss from the backyard of their farmhouse on Route 2 on July 18 but are not sure when they were taken.
The kayaks carry the model number Vapor 10XT on the side. One is green and the other is blue and white, she said.
Wilton Police Department were called and are investigating the incident.
