AUGUST — Don Campbell, a national winner of the True Value/ColgateCountry Showdown at the Grand Ole Opry, will perform Thursday, Aug. 5, when L/A Arts’ Music in the Parks concert series moves to Auburn.
He will perform on the back patio at the Hilton Garden Inn Auburn Riverwatch.
With world-class vocals and boy-next-door charm, Campbell has opened for Willie Nelson, Toby Keith, Carrie Underwood, Randy Travis and countless other country greats. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Campbell’s fresh but familiar voice has taken him from his hometown of Scarborough to his second home in Nashville, and well beyond.
Averaging 150-plus performances each year, he has a devoted and growing fan base.
He entertains audiences of all ages with his charismatic blend of adult contemporary, country and rock music.
As in past years, Campbell will be joined by his wife, Tonya Shevenel, playing bass and singing harmonies.
Music in the Parks performances begin at noon and last about an hour. They are free. If it rains, the concert will move into the Hilton’s grand ballroom. The Hilton will have picnic fare available for purchase; for menu details, call 784-4433.
Other August Music in the Parks concerts will be at Festival Plaza on Main Street. Performing will be Sylvain’s Cajun Aces, Aug. 12; and Denny Breau and Brad Terry, Aug. 19. For more information, call 782-7228 or [email protected].
