FARMINGTON — The Mt. Blue Music Boosters’ Summer Theater Camp will present “Blurred Lines and Ivy Vines,” a story that speaks to anyone who has gone or will go through the difficult transition from youth to adulthood.

The story follows 14-year-old Lila Parks (Ivy Enoch), a ninth-grader given the chance to revisit a world created by her imagination. She has many forgotten friends there, like a once beloved Barbie doll (Patty Brady) and her first imaginary playmate (Grace McIntosh). But there are also ust as many enemies, like the monster under her bed (Thomas Marshall) and her idealized vision of a bully classmate (Sophia Bunnell).

Fans of Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland” and Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” will appreciate some familiar themes in this tale, with Lila having to decide what she’ll need from her childhood world to move on — and what she must leave behind.

The two-act play was written by camp director Emily Pottle, a life-long Farmington resident and current UMF student. Thirty-five camp members make up the cast.

“Blurred Lines and Ivy Vines” will be staged at 7 p.m. Friday, July 30, and Saturday, July 31, at Mt. Blue High School auditorium. Tickets, sold at the door, are $6 for adults and seniors, $4 for children and students.
