BRIDGTON — Reginald Joseph Fadden Sr., 83, husband of Edna (Stevens) Fadden, died at his residence on July 25.

He was born in Bridgton, Feb. 13, 1927, the son of Charles and Gladys (Winn) Fadden and was educated in Bridgton schools, graduating from Bridgton High School, Class of 1944. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served his country for 11 years, active and reserve, leaving as a master gunnery sergeant after having served during World War II and Korea.

He had worked for CMP for 43 years, retiring as the company training supervisor March 1, 1989. Reginald was a member and past master of the A.F. and A.M. Lodge 13, a member and past patron of O.E.S. Chapter 192, a life member of the NRA and was an avid Red Sox fan.

In his earlier years, he had been a Cub Scout leader, a Boy Scout leader, coached Little League and was player/coach in the Lewiston-Auburn baseball league as well as being the assistant director of the Eastern Division of the National Ski Patrol. Reginald had served as chairman of the budget committee and board of selectmen for the town of Bridgton and trustee of the former Northern Cumberland Memorial Hospital.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Edna Fadden of Bridgton; three sons, Bruce Fadden and his wife, Bente, of Bridgton, Reginald Fadden Jr. and his wife, Kathleen, of North Carolina, and David Fadden and his wife, Anne-Marie, of Virginia; one daughter, Sandra Carsley and her husband, Leonard, of Bridgton; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
