The clash of swords. An inspiring call to patriotic duty. Love notes hidden in the forest. It must be time for Shakespeare in the Park.

In the time-honored tradition of traveling players, The Poland Players are once again sharing Shakespeare in the Park, with shortened versions of “Henry V” and “As You Like It” staged at outdoor venues.

“As You Like It,” a romantic comedy set in the Arden forest, follows heroine Rosalind on her journey toward finding true love. “Henry V” immortalizes one of England’s great warrior kings as he embarks on his conquest of France. Both plays are suitable for audiences of all ages.

Shows will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at the Gray Public Library; 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Ricker Library in Poland; and 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at the Lake House Inn in Waterford.

Performances are free, with donations appreciated.
