SOUTH PARIS — People interested in taking on leadership roles in organizations or in communities may want to explore one of the opportunities offered by the University of Southern Maine’s Leadership and Organizational Studies programs.

For those interested in exploring careers in leadership, the University of Southern Maine will present an overview of their certificates and degree programs and discuss relevant career opportunities. The presentation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, at Western Maine University and Community College Center.

Topics to be covered will include the graduate and undergraduate certificates in leadership, the Bachelor of Science in leadership and organizational studies and the master’s in leadership studies.

Many of the courses are available in a fully online format. A number of courses are offered in a blended (50 percent or more online) format as well. The program draws professionals from nonprofit, corporate and civic sectors and provides a solid, advanced level grounding in leadership theory.
