LEWISTON — Yvette L. Ayotte, 89, of 68 Third St., Auburn, died Wednesday, July 28, at the Marshwood Nursing Home.
Born in Auburn, June 5, 1921, she was the daughter of Omer and Irene Lambert LaRoche. Educated in local schools, she was employed as a beautician for many years. On Sept. 23, 1944, she married Henry Ayotte in St. Agnes Church in New York City. Mr. Ayotte passed away on Sept. 6, 1992.
She was a devoted member of St. Louis Church, Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, and also belonged to the Ladies of St. Anne, the Post 153 American Legion Auxiliary, and in 1939 traveled to World’s Fair in New York, as a member of the Golden Arrows Drill Team from New Auburn.
She also enjoyed needlepoint, word search puzzles, and traveling with her husband.
Survivors include two sons, Frank and wife, Connie, of Auburn and Marc and wife, Beth, of Auburn; two brothers, Roger LaRoche of Auburn and Raymond LaRoche of Lewiston; two sisters, Henryette and husband, Tom Howes, of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Paullette LaRoche of Auburn; a sister-in-law, Rose LaRoche of Auburn; a grandson, Chris Ayotte; and two great-grandchildren, Peter Ayotte and Anna Hagan.
