More than 50 firefighters and rescue personnel responded to a Sunday afternoon fire on Upton Road in Harrison. Dana Laplante, assistant fire chief for the Harrison Fire Department, said that five departments responded to the blaze at property owned by Eric Staples. Laplante said that a shed and boat were fully involved when firefighters arrived on scene shortly after 3:30 p.m. No one was injured as a result of the fire, which did not spread to Staples’ home, but the shed and boat are considered a total loss. Laplante said that the State Fire Marshal’s Office was called in to investigate the blaze because Staples was not home at the time of the fire.
