NEW VINEYARD — A New Vineyard man was arrested last week, accused of ramming his pickup truck into Bobcat-type loader operated by a crewman for Manzer Construction Inc.

Ryan Snell, 36, of New Vineyard arrived home July 28 and allegedly was upset about equipment parked on his land, said Lt. Niles Yeaton from Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

The construction crew is working on a paving project on Route 27 and was working on the side of the road at the end of Snell’s driveway, Yeaton said. The construction group has a 33-foot right of way from the centerline to work, he said.

A witness reported the small load was pushed about 18 inches when Snell drove his truck into it. The equipment operator was not hurt in the incident.

Snell was arrested on a charge of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon. He posted $200 cash bail and was released from Franklin County Detention Center for a court appearance Oct. 15.
