LEWISTON — Stella LaBrecque, 99, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Ouellette’s Adult Foster Home Care in Lewiston.
Born in Lewiston on June 28, 1911, she was the daughter of Joseph and Armenie Charest Poirier. Educated in local schools, she married Robert F. Labrecque in 1933. Mr. LaBrecque passed away on March 3, 1965.
She worked for 39 years at the Pepperrell Manufacturing Company, retiring in 1968, and then worked for a few more years at Geiger Brothers. A member of Saints Peter and Paul Basilica, Prince of Peace Parish, she enjoyed playing cards, miniature golf, fishing, and, while her husband was alive, she enjoyed their cottage with family and friends on Sabattus Pond.
She leaves a nephew, Norman Couture and his wife, Pauline, of Auburn; a close niece, Sister Therese Couture; and a dear and devoted friend Jeannine Cloutier.
She was predeceased by two brothers and six sisters.
The family wishes to thank Ron Ouellette and his staff for the kind and considerate care given to our aunt. Condolences may be expressed online at www.albert-burpee.com.
