Sugarloaf

CARRABASSETT VALLEY – More than $21,000 was raised at the annual Healthcare Golf Classic at Sugarloaf Golf Club. Twenty-two teams from throughout New England took part in the two-day tournament.

Proceeds from the 23rd-annual tournament, coordinated by Franklin Community Health Network, benefit the Healthy Community Coalition and the Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center. Both provide health services to people throughout Greater Franklin County.

Highlights of the tournament were the lively Sunday night dinner and awards ceremony at Gepetto’s, with the introduction of tournament major sponsors and the announcement of that day’s results. First place went to Team Kozak & Gayer, PA, comprised of Carol Johnson, Julius Ciembroniewicz, Steven Johnson, and Greg Gravel.

Monday the winner of first place “gross” was Franklin Somerset FCU comprised of Cass Hirschfelt, Anthony Veneziano, Brian Willette and Jason Winslow. Second place went to Franklin Savings Bank made up of Peter Judkins, Gary Downs, Scott Morton and Jamie Eastlack. Third place went to the Team Webber whose members were Peter Webber, Seth Wescott, Pat Blake and Kelly Welch.

The first place “net” team was Jeff McGowen, Steve Cates, Geoff Hart and Gus Demos representing Waste Management. Second net went to the Town of Carrabassett Valley Team of Dave Cota, Bob Luce, Jay Reynolds and Deb Bowker. Third place went to the Kyes Insurance Team of Rock Bjorn, Judy Bjorn, Jill Perry and Flint Christie.
