RANGELEY — New England Celtic Arts will present the acclaimed Celtic rock band Pogey on Tuesday Aug. 17, at Lakeside Theater in Rangeley; Wednesday Aug. 18, at Skye Theatre Performing Arts Center in Carthage; and Thursday Aug. 19, at Unity College Center for the Performing Arts.

The band, which plays all major American-Irish festivals, combines electric guitar, fiddle, mandolin, acoustic guitar, bass, drums and four-part vocal harmonies to produce a trademark Nova Scotia sound.

Making up Pogey are Ray Mattie, Jonny Grant and Warren Robert. Joining them for several shows this year is drummer Zach Smith and fiddler Donald MacLennan. The group released its self-titled freshman album in 2006 and its second album, “Full Speed Ahead,” earlier this summer.

Pogey s returning for its fourth tour of the region. The show will begin at 7 p.m. at Lakeside and Skye, and 7:30 p.m. at Unity. There will be a preshow jam session at Skye and Unity.

Tickets are $10 at the door at Skye and UCCPA. They are $12.50 in advance (at the theater and at www.rangeleymovies.com) and $15 at the door at Lakeside.
