PORTLAND – The Maine Red Claws announced the schedule for the 2010-11 season, which it will open at home on Nov. 19.

The Red Claws will open at the Portland Expo with a two-game weekend set against the Austin Toros. The team will then head down I-95 to renew a rivalry with the Springfield Armor with a trio of games before returning home December 3 to face the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Maine will play a 50-game schedule, with 24 games at home, 24 on the road and a two-game league showcase. The 2011 NBA D-League Showcase will take place on January 10-13 at the South Padre Island (TX) Convention Center.

Of their 24 homes games, 18 of Maine’s games will fall on weekend dates, with eight on Sundays. Those games will feature early start times to encourage families with young children to attend; four Sunday games will tip off at 1 PM and four at 5 PM. The team will also play a special day game on Thursday, February 24 during school vacation week with a 1 PM tip off.

Maine fans will have the opportunity to see 10 of the Red Claws’ 15 NBA D-League opponents, including the expansion Texas Legends led by Head Coach Nancy Lieberman, the Idaho Stampede coached by former Red Claws assistant Randy Livingston, and the 2010 NBA D-League champion Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Also making their way to Maine this season will be: Austin Toros, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Springfield Armor, Dakota Wizards, Erie BayHawks, Tulsa 66ers, and Iowa Energy.
