HOMESTEAD, Fla. — Brenda Gallagher Gonia, 58, went to heaven Aug. 3. She passed in the loving arms of her husband, Henryk after a nine and a half-year battle with ovarian cancer.
Brenda was employed by L.L. Bean from 1988 to 1994, before moving to Florida. She moved to Homestead, Fla., in early 1994, and was employed by Investors Research, Land Appraisers for 16 years.
Brenda loved to travel, cook and entertain. She was a founding member of Speedway Community Church, where her passion became the children of the migrant community and started a Saturday “Sunday school” teaching them about Jesus.
She is survived by her husband, Henryk Gonia; son, Adam Shirah; parents, John and Wilma Gallagher; brother, Jim Gallagher; and sisters, Laura Stapleton, Susan Annear and Marty Turgeon.
