There should be more important things to worry about than loud motorcycles. With today’s economy, why are people bogging down our lawmakers with petty stuff such as noise pollution?
I could see bringing up the issue of loud exhaust or custom work to bikes and automobiles if the state of our country was in perfect order; if the unemployment rate was at zero; everyone was healthy and did not need to utilize hospital services; and there was no crime or corruption. Then people could start to worry about the little things that annoy us. If allowing a local gearhead to customize a bike or automobile keeps him or her out of the soup line, then so be it.
A simple solution to the noise on the road would be to have marked quiet zones. That way the police would have a good reason for arresting the really loud operators who don’t obey the quiet-zone law.
