The pew holders, life members and annual members of the Middle Intervale Meetinghouse Society will meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, for a business meeting and the unveiling of the National Register of Historic Places plate. Following the business meeting, Stan Howe will present a program of the history of the house. Music will be by Daniel Johnson, organist of the West Parish Church. Built in 1816, The Meetinghouse was originally used by the Baptists and the Methodists for religious purposes. In about 1857, extensive renovations were made to the original building and in the early 20th century, it became vacant. Various attempts to revive interest in the historic structure proved short-lived until the organization of the society in 1979. It is presently used for meetings, church services and an occasional wedding. The trustees invite any interested persons to join the society. Light refreshments will be served.
