POLAND SPRING — The Poland Spring Preservation Society will welcome singer Martin Swinger on Monday, Aug. 16, at All Souls Chapel.

Martin was singing solos in public by the first grade and writing songs by his teens. During his early years in Georgia, he played piano, ukulele and guitar, making music with friends and family, and singing in school and church choirs.

He is known as a musician with a comfortable presence, a powerful voice and creative guitar skills.

 Martin’s repertoire of songs runs the gamut from upbeat and witty to astounding powerfully moving. His concerts include award-winning originals, swing and jazz standards, and traditional and contemporary Americana selections.

Martin has produced four CDs: “Scrapbook,” “Mockingbird,” “American Seeds” and “BearNAKED.”  He parlays his love of songwriting into education and teaches songwriting to students from kindergarten to adulthood.
