Class lunch

MEXICO — Members of the Rumford High School Class of 1954 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, at the Covered Wagon Restaurant. Members and guests are welcome.

Bridge play

RUMFORD — Duplicate bridge was played Aug. 11 at the Senior Center. Results were as follows: first place, Judy Roy and Ann McClousky; second, Donna and Ozzie Swett; third, Eric and Marilyn Sahlberg.

Anyone is welcome to join in; games are at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, at at the Senior Center, Congress Street.

Hymn sing

LOCKE MILLS — A hymn sing by the choirs of the Rumford Point Congregational Church UCC and the Locke Mills Union Church UCC will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at the Locke Mills Union Church.

All are welcome to attend. Refreshments will follow.

Yard sale

EAST DIXFIELD — Mystic Valley Grange, Route 2, will host a community yard and food sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21.

Donations of sale items, fresh vegetables, berries, baked goods or pickles would be appreciated. Crafters are welcome to set up a table for $5, bringing their own table if held outdoors. Call Hazel at 645-2423. Proceeds from the event are for Grange Hall modernization projects.

Lodge to meet

RUMFORD — The Gorizia Lodge, 467, Sons of Italy, will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at the Sons of Italy Hall in Smithcrossing. All members are encouraged to attend.

RUMFORD — Members of the Stephens High School Class of 1948 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at Dick’s. Call Bev at 364-4085 for more information.
