Auxiliary picnic

MECHANIC FALLS — Members of Emilien Hamann Unit 11 Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary will have a “greet and meet” picnic at noon Friday, Aug. 20, at Sylvia Heath’s. 

Those attending should bring an item to grill and a dish to share. Everyone from Chapter 11 as well as those in the auxiliary are invited to attend. For more information, call Kathy at 623-5725.

Bridge results

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Aug. 16 were as follows: first/second tie, Dick Allen and Richard Balian with Les Buzzell and Paul Sherman; third, Marta Clements and Hazel Glazier; fourth, Eileen Potvin and Della Starbird; fifth, Alberta Turner and Anna Vitiello.

Farm Day

LEEDS — Maine Farm Days will be held on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 21 and 22, at the Barker Farm, 9 Barker Road on Route 106.

Food will be available and participants may take a wagon ride to explore the operations of the farm, attend classes and check out the Don Campbell Band, performing from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21.

POLAND — The Poland Community Church will sponsor a Blueberry Festival from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at Poland Spring Inn.

Grange to meet

HEBRON — Members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will meet for their annual outing at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at Greenwood Mountain Inn. A chicken barbecue will be provided. Members are asked to bring their own beverage and a salad or dessert to share. All members and guests are welcome.
