WILTON — Twenty-two classmates and 14 guests from the Wilton Academy Class of 1955 met for their 55th reunion recently.
On Aug. 6, they gathered at the residence of Erlon and Jean Rand for a barbecue, followed by a meeting conducted by president Bradley Lothrop. The meeting included updates from members and a letter was read from classmate Dennis Karkos, who resides in Arizona. A memorial tribute was given to Janet Collins Toothaker, Marjorie Smith Gordon and Joy Fagone Karkos. It was voted to have the next reunion in 2015.
The group attended activities during the Wilton Blueberry Festival, then met for dinner and socializing at the Calzolaio Pasta Company. As the class earlier voted, they presented a check to close out their treasury to the Wilton Scholarship Foundation.
Several met for breakfast on Aug. 8 at LaFleur’s in Jay, followed by the ecumenical service at the Wilton United Methodist Church.

Francis Egan, Milton Farrington, Shirley Hammond Pike, Thornton Harvey, Lillian Hines Adams, Jean Lagerson Johnston, Wesley Lane, Bradley Lothrop, Sidney Maillet, DeAnne Parker Williams, JoAnne Pease Childs, Erlon Rand, Henry Richard, Shelby Riggs Rafter, Sylvia Sawyer Bollenbecker, Robert Smith, Nancy Taylor Johnson, Shirley Tilton Thompson, Carol Tutty Judkins and Beverly Wallace Harris. Out of state attendees were from North Carolina, Utah, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Oklahoma and several from Florida.
