AUBURN — Lake City Exports owner Derek Dube and his staff recently presented the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society with a donation of $850. As a way to give back to the community, Dube decided to give a percentage of his company’s monthly sales to local nonprofits throughout the Lewiston-Auburn area. The Humane Society benefited $50 for each car sold at the dealership during the month of April.
The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, at 55 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, provides a safe haven for more than 5,500 sick, homeless and abused animals in the greater Androscoggin area each year. The primary support for the shelter comes from fundraising events and donations of concerned citizens.
For more information about the shelter, call 783-2311 or visit the website at www.gahumane.org, or join them on www.facebook/GAHumane.
