SABATTUS — The Sabattus American Legion Post 135 will host a Veterans Affairs workshop on Saturday, Sept. 11, for military veterans of Sabattus and all neighboring communities. 

Representatives from both the Togus VA Health Administration and the VA Benefits Administration will provide a seminar on federal benefits available for veterans and dependents. Following the seminar, VA representatives will be available to answer any questions or concerns as well as aid veterans in completing various types of VA application forms for VA benefits.

The Department of Veterans Affairs defines a veteran as a person who served in the active military, naval or air service and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.

The legion is located on Island Road. The morning will begin with coffee and refreshments at 9 a.m. with the workshop to follow at 9:30 a.m.
