LEWISTON — Participants in the first annual Androscoggin County Farm Bike Tour can receive a free bike safety inspection now through Aug. 27.
According to organizers of the tour, bikers can stop by Rainbow Bike Shop at 945 Center Street, Auburn, for an inspection. Needed repairs will be the bicycle owners’ responsibility.
There will be two routes offered on the tour: a family route, which will involve riding under 10 miles, and the long route, which will involve about 50 miles. Bikers on both routes will have the opportunity to learn about agriculture in Androscoggin County.
Preregistration is encouraged, but participants can register on the morning of the event. The cost is $10 each individual and $20 each family.
