FARMINGTON — The community is invited to a cookout Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Abbott Park on the University of Maine at Farmington campus.

The Abused Women’s Advocacy Project along with Franklin County law enforcement officers will serve up lunch plates that include a hamburg, hot dog, chips, Homestead Bakery brownie and beverage for $7.

The event is planned to help domestic violence victims and survivors become more aware of the resources and support available in the community and for the community to show their support of those affected by domestic violence.

There will be fun activities for children and a free drawing for a prize. Community members are welcome to bring a picnic blanket and join the activities at the park, wich is just off the Intervale.
