CANTON — Cynthia P. Johnson, 76, went to be with her Lord on Aug. 29, at her home in Canton with her loving family by her side.

She was born on Sept. 2, 1933, in Bangor, the daughter of Gilbert Russell and Marion (Pearl) Buckley.

On Nov. 14, 1948, she married the late Arnold Johnson and they made their home in Canton.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and seamstress. She made many beautiful things for her family and friends including entire wedding gowns for her daughters.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Dixfield. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, watching birds and animals. She also enjoyed doing 1,000 piece puzzles, canning and berrying. Her greatest pleasure was time spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her stepmother, Charlotte Russell; three daughters, Rose Walsh and her husband, Richard, of Canton, Karen Walsh and her husband, Michael, of Canton and Annette Johnson of Eddington; a son, Chester Johnson and his wife, Linda, of Canton; a sister, Glenda Goding and her husband, Bob, of Canton; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Arnold Johnson; her parents; a sister, Gilberta Stover; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Barbara Johnson; a brother, Keith; and two granddaughters.

The family would like to thank Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, especially, Bonnie, Nicky, Laura and Pastor John.
