AUBURN — A Lisbon town worker was arrested earlier this month and charged with two felony drug charges.

Jonathan R. Paul, 25, of Lisbon Falls was hired by the town in 2006 as a part-time employee in the information technology department, Town Manager Steve Eldridge said. Paul changed to full-time  status last year and continues to work for the town, Eldridge said Monday. He declined to comment on the case.

Paul was arrested by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency on Aug. 5 and charged with two class C felonies: trafficking in schedule X drugs and trafficking in schedule Z drugs. Each charge is punishable by up to five years in prison.

Gerry Baril, supervisory special agent with MDEA, declined to comment on the charges citing possible jeopardy of an ongoing investigation. The case is expected to be presented to an Androscoggin County grand jury next week.

Paul was released on $5,000 unsecured bond. Conditions of his release include: no alcohol or illegal drug use or possession; submission to personal, vehicle or home search for those items at any time.
