WEST PARIS — Rowena M. Donnell, 91, of West Paris, died Saturday, Aug. 28, at Ledgeview Living Center.

She was born in Poland, Jan. 23, 1919, the daughter of Clarence and Esther Keene. She attended schools in Poland and had been a homemaker all of her life. She was very active with the foster-grandparent program through the New Gloucester schools and Pineland for more than 25 years.

She was associated with the Extension Service for 40 years. She was a member of the North Pownal Church and the Pomona Grange in Gray.

She enjoyed crocheting and quilting. She married Alvah Donnell, he passed away on March 26.

She is survived by two sons, Wayne Tripp and his wife, Suzanne, of Oxford and Rodney Hall, of Lewiston; stepdaughters, Faye Smith of Oxford and Sharon Donnell of Gardiner; four stepsons, Wilson and Alvah Jr., both of Pittston, John of Palermo and Hugh of Atlanta, Ga.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Leslie Hall; a stepson, Jerry Tripp; two stepdaughters, Sharkie Coombs and Joanne Tripp; and two sisters, Hazel Edwards and Mildred Knight.
