Coach: Matt Erickson (fourth year)
Last year’s record: 18-0, won Class C state championship.
Returning letter winners: Seniors — Dan Curtis (FB), Jackson Erickson (MF), Alex Parker (F), Kyle Hargraves (FB), Kurt Johnson (MF), Brian Mathieu (FB); Juniors — Cam Hainey (G), Troy Haefele (MF), Austin Gervais (MF), David Dean (MF); Sophomores — Will Desmarais (F), Dakota Keene (F), Bobby St. Hilaire (F).
Key losses: Nick Brigham (G), Deryck Beliveau (FB), Josh Charest (MF), Trevar Haefele (MF), Garrett Darnell (MF), Shayne Curtis (FB), Cam Brown (MF), Jameson Peterson (FB).
Promising newcomers: Senior — Josh Brown (G); Juniors — Josu Asun (MF), Chris Finlay (FB); Sophomores — Billy Soper (FB), Zack Johnson (MF); Freshman —Chase Hainey (MF).
Outlook: The Saints lost key talent from last year’s state championship squad but have 13 players back, many of which started and were contributors to that title. Erickson was an all-state pick while Parker was a consistent threat up front. Hargraves and Mathieu solidify the defense while Johnson is a veteran in the midfield. St. Dom’s also added Asun, a Spanish transfer that fits nicely with the Saints style of play. St. Dom’s should be a contender for another MVC title and be a team to watch in Western C.
Coach’s comment:
“Collectively, the team had one of its best preseasons, great work ethic, no serious injuries. We’re looking forward to our second year in the MVC.” — Coach Matt Erickson.
