Adults and families are eagerly waiting for the assistance of a one-on-one tutor to help them gain critical reading, writing and math skills. Many of the individuals need the skills to better qualify for a job or prepare their children for kindergarten. Abi, pictured, and his mom are one of several families in the Family Literacy Program. Literacy Volunteers-Androscoggin will hold a tutor training workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Sept. 23 and 24, at the Auburn Public Library. Registration is required.
