Rug braiding

MEXICO — Rug braiding classes will be held at the Green Church from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning Sept. 7. There will be no class on Sept. 14. Beginners are welcome.

There is no cost, but participants are asked to make a donation to the church for the use of the space. Natalie Reed has been teaching rug braiding in the Mexico/Rumford area for more than 40 years and continues, at age 80, to teach the classes, with the help of her daughter, Julieanne. Community breakfast

RANGELEY — The next ladies/community breakfast, with everyone invited to attend, will be from 7 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church on Lake Street.

Country show

SALEM — The Country Chickadees will perform at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at the Community Building. A donation box will be at the door and refreshments will be on sale.

The event will be hosted by the Salem Pine Tree Club. All monies raised by the music show will go to the club, which helps maintain and restore the Community Building and gives scholarships to Salem graduates.

Benefit dinner

KINGFIELD — A benefit spaghetti dinner will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Webster Hall. Proceeds will benefit Braden Churchill, who recently had surgery on his to back to fix a herniated disc, and will be out of work for six to eight weeks. Churchill has worked for four years at Jordan’s Excavation and previously worked for E.L Vining and Sons in Farmington and Cousineau’s in Strong.

He has lived in Kingfield for more than 30 years with his wife, Patricia. They have two sons, Braden and his wife Patty, Michael and his wife Sarah and one grandson Mathew. There will also be a 50/50 and a raffle with other items from area businesses. Anyone interested in helping or making a donation, may contact Sarah Churchill at 265-2428.
