LISBON — Jane Poulin of Lisbon, a member of the Raymond J. Lavigne Auxiliary 9459, participated in the 97th National Convention of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S., held Aug. 21 to 26 at the Indianapolis Convention Center in Indianapolis, Ind.

The convention marked the beginning of Poulin’s 2010-2011 term as National Chairman for the 12 states in the Eastern Conference on the Americansim/Patriotic Instructor Program.

During the convention, the outstanding Department Presidents in the 11 membership groups were announced, awards and resolutions to the national bylaws were announced and reviewed, and many guests, including first-place Patriotic Art winner Mariah Jorgensen and special award winner Dan Wallrath were in attendance. Members also viewed the eight winning Young American Creative Patriotic Art entries and the Buddy Poppy displays and attended several joint events with the VFW, such as the joint opening session and the patriotic rally.
