LEWISTON — While other folks prepare for Hurricane Earl’s wrath, people in Androscoggin County ought to prepare for an unremarkable amount of wind and rain, say local officials.
“We’re tracking the storm,” said Timothy Bubier, deputy director of the Androscoggin Unified Emergency Management Agency. Bubier plans to closely watch forecasts and join conference calls with emergency officials across Maine.
But unless the track of the storm changes, his office will be closed this weekend, he said.
Current forecasts for Androscoggin County call for wind gusts of up to 35 miles per hour and 1 or 2 inches of rain, Bubier said.
The storm is expected to hit Maine on Friday.
