WOODSTOCK — Two men were arrested Wednesday after they were accused of sex crimes in unrelated cases.

Richard Benjamin Musto III, 27, of South Main Street in Woodstock and Brian D. Poitras, 48, of Hancock Avenue in Hiram, were each charged with two counts of unlawful sexual contact. Poitras was also charged with unlawful sexual touching.

The cases are unrelated, according to Capt. Hart Daley of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.

Musto is charged with sexual contact with two girls, ages 5 and 6, in February.

Poitras is accused of having sexual contact with two 11-year-old girls last month.

Daley arrested Musto on Wednesday morning, and Sgt. Timothy Ontengco arrested Poitras on Wednesday evening.

Musto’s bail was set at $25,000 cash, while Poitras’ bail was set at $15,000. After their initial appearances in the South Paris District Court, Judge Paul Cote reduced Musto’s bail to $5,000 cash or $20,000 worth of real estate and Poitras’ bail to $3,000 cash or $15,000 of real estate.

Both men must have no contact with their accusers or other young children. Poitras must also not use alcohol and must submit to random searches for it, but may have supervised contact with his granddaughter.
