LEWISTON — Armand J. Lauze, 90, of 50 Bailey Ave., Lewiston, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, at the Marshwood Nursing Home, where he had been a resident since December 2006. Born in Livermore Falls on Sept. 8, 1919, he was the son of Delphis and Marie Dube Lauze.

He moved with his family to Lewiston at a young age and was raised on Orange Street. Educated in local schools, he was a veteran of World War II, serving in Europe with the U.S. Army. After the war, he returned to Lewiston and married the former Patricia M. Rousseau, who passed away on Sept. 27, 2001.

He worked for many years as a hand sewer in the local shoe industry, and later went to work for Pioneer Plastics. A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, he also belonged to the American Legion, enjoyed gardening and was an avid deer hunter.

He is survived by a brother, Laurier and wife, Raymonde, of Jackson, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by four brothers, Lucien, Lorenzo, Robert, and Wilfred; and two sisters, Jeannette Lepage and Laurette Pomerleau.
