100 years ago, 1910

M.L. Thayer did some slick shooting Monday at the Labor Day shoot of the Auburn Rifle Club, getting a score of 47 out of 50 and winning the hunting knife. Ross Mower came second in this special event with a score of 40. Among the other members who did some good work at the range were Trask, N. L. Mower, Seavey, Kimball and Doten.

50 years ago, 1960

Ernest Pleau Jr., of Lewiston, has been appointed membership chairman for Lewiston Council 106, Knights of Columbus. The appointment was made by Grand Knight Raoul L. Pinette. Among his duties will be coordinating the work of the following prospects, admission, conservation and readmission committees.

25 years ago 1985

After six years as a city employee working on key development and land-use issues, Lewiston City Planner Robert Faunce will leave his post Sept. 25 to become a private consultant.
