Quilters to meet

RUMFORD — The Rumford Area Quilters will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, at the Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street, for the first meeting of the season. The gathering is open to all area quilters. Show and tell is a favorite part of the evening along with occasional demonstrations, fabric swaps, mystery quilt challenges and special project.

A demonstration on “Quilt as you go with ric-rac” will be presented. For more information, call 562-7050.

MEXICO — The Stephens High School Class of 1955 will meet on Thursday, September 9, at the Far East Restaurant at 11:30 A.M. for their monthly meeting.

Girl Scouts

RUMFORD — Girl Scouts of Maine will host an “All Out for Girl Scouts” event from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Hosmer Field Complex.

Girls and adults are invited to attend the event to find out about the many different ways today’s girls are participating in girl scouting. Girls will have an opportunity to sample some activities and adults will also learn about becoming a volunteer.
