AUBURN — The Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Maine will host its 14th annual steak and burger dinner from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Auburn-Lewiston clubhouse, 43 Second St. The dinner is the club’s primary fundraising event in Lewiston-Auburn and serves as an end-of-summer barbecue for club members.

Roles are reversed at the event, as club members receive steaks and guests eat hamburgers. Androscoggin Bank’s COO Paul Andersen and Lindy Fogg are co-chairing the event this year.

Olympian Julia Clukey will present during the event. This summer, she continues to visit high schools throughout Maine to talk with young people about the importance of good decision making. At the Boys and Girls Club, Clukey will talk with kids and guests about her experiences growing up in Maine, the challenges she has faced during her Olympic career and also share a message of individual responsibility.

The mission of Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Maine is “to inspire and enable all young people, particularly those who need us most, to reach their full potential as responsible, productive and caring citizens.”
