Bridge play
OXFORD — The Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Sept. 3 in the Recreation Hall on King Street. A six-table Howell movement was played. The quarterly club championship was won by Marilyn and Richard Canton who were first in flight A and B. Second in A were Nancy Farmer and Marta Clements with Hazel Glazier and Pete Cummings third.
Finishing second in flight B were Penny and Bob Thomas with Denny Raymond and Hank Sakrison third. Another game will be played at 9:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10. Cemetery meeting
HEBRON — The 2010 annual meeting of the Maple Ridge Cemetery Association will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, at 78 Greenwood Mountain Road. Business on the agenda will include amending articles of association and bylaws, investing recently bequeathed funds and election of officers and trustees.

AARP meeting
SOUTH PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet on Monday, Sept. 13, at the First Congregational Church on East Main Street. A lunch of sweet and sour pork will be served at noon. The cost is $6.50 and reservations are required by calling Ruth at 744-9069 by noon Friday, Sept. 10.
The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. Those attending are reminded to bring donations of school supplies. The speaker for the meeting will be Lee Dassler, to talk about the work being done at the Roberts Farm Preserve.
Legion dance
SOUTH PARIS — The Jones Dance Band will play old-fashioned dance music from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Legion Hall on Church Street. The cost is $5.
