Seniors to meet

LIVERMORE FALLS — The Jay Livermore Falls Seniors will hold the first meeting of the new season at noon Monday, Sept. 13, at Murray Hall, Main Street. Members are asked to bring finger food as a light lunch will  be served, followed by a short meeting and beano.

Anyone 50 years of age or older from the Jay-Livermore Falls area are welcome to join the group that meets every Monday at Murray Hall. For more information, call chairwoman Shirley Couture at 897-3775.

Informational meeting

FARMINGTON — An informational meeting about the new Agriculture Technology Program at Mt. Blue High School has been scheduled for farmers and others interested in learning more about the mentoring program. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, downstairs in the Farmington Town Office.

A brief history will be given on how and why the program was developed. The goals and expected outcomes, from both student and farmer perspective, will also be shared. Glen Kapiloff, director of the high school’s Foster Tech Center, will provide further details about the program and answer questions. Refreshments will be served. Public supper

JAY — A free public supper will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Main Street. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. and dinner will be served from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The menu will include crunchy chicken, macaroni and cheese, salad, soup and desserts.

Donations are welcome, but not necessary. Anyone wishing to donate supplies may call 779-6951.

Tailgate party

FARMINGTON — The 14th annual Mt. Blue football tailgate party will be held before the Oxford Hills varsity football game on Friday, Sept. 10, in the high school parking lot. The menu will include a half chicken meal for $6.50, a quarter-pound hamburger or two hot dogs each for $5. Food will be served from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and all meals include coleslaw, chips, a brownie and a drink. Seating is available.

Tickets are available from all high school football players, at Madore’s Market in West Farmington or Shelly’s Hometown Market in East Wilton. Advanced purchase is advised. All proceeds will benefit the Mt. Blue High School football program.
