RUMFORD — Dorothy E. Waite, 70, a resident of Common Wealth Road, Canton, died early Tuesday morning at Rumford Community Hospital.

She was born Oct. 21, 1939, in Lewiston, the daughter of John and Gertrude (Nutting) Bennett. She was a graduate of Wilton High School. In Jan. of 1958 in Wilton, she married Adrien E. Waite, Jr. of Jay. He passed away Dec. 17, 1999. She was a homemaker and also worked as a cook at Victorian Villa Nursing Home in Canton. She enjoyed painting, cooking, and time spent with her family.

She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Daniel and Victoria Waite of Canton; Jeffery and Natalie Waite of Dixfield; and Darrell and Gail Waite of Bangor; her daughter, Dianne Waite, of Canton; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; her sister, Connie Arsenault, of Rumford.

She was predeceased by her son, John Waite.
