FARMINGTON — Kate McCarty of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension will offer a “Preserving the Harvest” workshop from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Franklin County Cooperative Extension Office, 138 Pleasant St., Suite 1. There is a materials fee of $10 each person.
Participants will receive a food preservation packet and will learn recommended methods for preserving foods, the latest and safest recipes, equipment to insure safety and how to check for properly sealed jars. Participants need to bring a potholder with them to the workshop.
To register, call 778-4650 or 800-287-1478 by Sept. 9. Materials fee is payable by check, payable to “CCEA,” putting “Preserving the Harvest” in the memo section.
