It’s difficult for any of us to admit mistakes on how we voted. In 2008, mainstream media made the huge mistake of supporting and helping to elect Barack Obama. Some 53 percent of all voters made the same mistake in voting for a senator who was (still is) totally unknown; a senator who promised “hope and change” and who voted “present” more than 100 times as a senator.
Obama’s plunging poll numbers indicate that many of those people now see their mistake, but how about the media? They continue to fawn over him as he continually stumbles, bumbles and vacations (six and counting).
If we could wake up the media to give us good, honest reporting, we would all need speed-reading classes to keep up with all the stories out there. For example, we have heard nothing about the 175,000 new government employees, or anything about the 32 czars now writing regulations with no accountability.
How about the Justice Department releasing thousands of illegals who are violating the Constitution? The Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac disasters are stories begging the attention of a gutsy reporter.
The media seem to enjoy denigrating the tea party, Fox News and Glenn Beck, leaving no time to address news of the loss of 70,000 jobs in the Gulf caused by Obama’s moratorium on new drilling.
There are hundreds of stories out there — good and bad — that need to be told.
The media need to wake up.
