LEWISTON — Mr. Bernard’s School of Hair Fashion Inc. of Lewiston held its annual celebration banquet at the Ramada Inn on Aug. 14. Alumni, family and friends joined the students and staff for the event which included a program, dinner and dancing. The evening began with a special presentation to school owners, Andrew and Mary Fournier.

Following dinner, results from the 2010 Student Competition were announced. The students’ work was on display for the duration of the evening and included pieces from 51 participants in six categories.

The awards presented in Avant Garde Hair and Make-Up were: first place, Samantha Knightly of South Paris; second place, Emmi Rackliffe of Minot; third place, Tempera Scott of Wales; fourth place, Estella Flores of Lewiston; fifth place, Angelia Iler of Lewiston.

The awards presented in Prom Fashion were: first place, Jamie Couture of Auburn; second place, Adriana Lynn Rice of Bowdoin; third place, Shannon Wilding of Auburn; fourth place, Amy Whatley of Auburn.

The awards presented in Bridal Style were: first place, Jennifer Webster of Oxford; second place, Connie Maheux of Lewiston.

The awards presented in Braided Style were: first place, Carrie Michaud of Lewiston; second place, Bethany Maheux of Lewiston.

The awards presented in Fantasy Nails were: first place, Leeann Walsh of Lewiston; second place, Crystal Gowell of Litchfield.

The awards presented in Nail Artistry were: first place, Amanda Tapley of South Paris; second place, Sheena Meserve of Norway; third place, Linda Segars of Durham.

The student competition was coordinated by Bernard’s School Class Manager Jayne Briggs. Serving as judges were Patti Thomas, Christine Robichaud and Brenda Theberge. The celebration banquet was coordinated by the Bernard’s Student Council and its mentors.
