AUBURN — Gerald F. Briggs, 79, a resident of Auburn, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the Odd Fellows Home, after a long illness.

He was born in Lewiston, June 19, 1931, the son of Frederick and Louise (MacDonald) Briggs. He was a 1950 graduate of Edward Little High School. His employment career began with Sanborn’s Motor Transport and also he had been manager of Day’s Oil Co. for 25 years. After retirement, he had been employed parttime at Marden’s Warehouse.

Survivors include two sons, Gard and Daniel of Auburn; three sisters, Geraldine Sizeland, Hilda Davis and Janice Bilodeau, all of Auburn; and one stepbrother, Richard Briggs of Auburn.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Odd Fellows Home for the wonderful care given to their dad.
