LEWISTON — Betsy (Bettina) Richard recently joined Tri-County Mental Health Services’ crisis residential program known as Deer Run.

Deer Run provides residential care and supervision, as well as counseling and case management to persons in crisis, or those returning to independent living after an in-patient stay. The program offers a quiet, safe place with round-the-clock staffing for up to six adults. Richard is also planning program enhancements such as groups.

She brings extensive experience to the position. She graduated from Springfield College, School of Human Services, in December 1999 with a master’s degree in community psychology focusing on families with children. She has worked as a mental health crisis clinician for 11 years, is trained in critical incident stress management, and is a trainer for the state of Maine crisis curriculum. In addition, she has worked with children and adults with developmental disabilities as the case manager.
