DEAR SUN SPOTS: Would you or any of your readers know where I might be able to purchase men’s short-sleeve pullover terry cloth shirts? — R. Hoisington, East Livermore

ANSWER: There are a few sites online, among them www.castawayclothing.com (1-866-488-0642) and www.orvis.com (1-888-235-9763). Vintage shirts are available at www.rustyzipper.com. Sun Spots didn’t turn up anything locally, but perhaps readers will be able to help.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: A friend of mine is handicapped and wants to clear his own driveway this winter. He is looking for a riding snowblower.

A recent letter in Sun Spots mentioned Nick’s Mowers and Blowers and the telephone number as 577-1816. I believe this Nick resides in Farmington, but he can’t be reached at 577-1816. Is there a possibility that Nick is still doing this business?

It would be nice if my friend could get a machine delivered before the snow starts to fly. — No Name, Wilton

ANSWER: Sun Spots e-mailed Janet, the original provider of this information. She responded with the following:

“The number as listed in my original e-mail is good. Nick is my son, and I reach him regularly using that number, 577-1816. The person who tried it without success may have misdialed? Or perhaps the call should have been a long-distance one, the number preceded by 1-207-? The number is a cell phone number and comes with a cell version of an answering machine/voice message. I cannot vouch for how fail-safe the message service is. I will, however, check with him. And thanks for pursuing this!”

If you still can’t get through using the phone number, you could try e-mailing Janet at lairdart@midmaine.com.
