Maine deserves a strong advocate for public education in the governor’s office. Libby Mitchell is that person.

Mitchell has worked for more than 20 years to improve K-college educational opportunities for all of Maine’s people. She believes that the key to Maine’s future is a well-educated population.

As a classroom teacher, she learned firsthand the value and necessity of a public education. She understands the needs of Maine students.

In this time of economic recession Maine needs an experienced, insightful, caring and proven education leader.

I have discussed the needs of public education with her and found her to be very knowledgeable, and a compassionate and true supporter of education.
