First Auburn Seniors

AUBURN — The First Auburn Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the Hasty Community Center. President Angie Jipson will conduct the meeting. Members should bring cups and utensils for a chicken lunch at noon, to be followed by bingo.

Meal tickets, for $5, will be available for the Halloween party, to be held Oct. 20. At the last meeting, 52 members attended. Attendance winners were Lucien Marcoux and Lorraine Marcous. Pot of gold winners were Betty Hebert, Phil Cyr and Marilyn Redmun.

Joe Toner, Recreation Department specialist, introduced himself to the membership. He outlined future plans, activities and trips for the new year.

OES to meet

LISBON FALLS — Pioneer Chapter 11, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at the Ancient York Masonic Hall, Route 196.

Members will celebrate “Back to School” and honor those who have worked in the schools. Refreshments will be served after the meeting. All members of the Order are invited to attend.

Revival services

POLAND — The Liberty Baptist Church of East Poland will host revival services at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Sept. 20 to 24, at the church on Dunn Road. All are welcome to attend the services.

The church will also host a meal on Sunday, Sept. 19, following the 11 a.m. service. For more information, contact Pastor Witham at 346-3011.

Auxiliary to meet

LEWISTON — Members of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Emilien Hamann Unit 11 will meet at noon Friday, Sept. 17, at Unit Commander Thelma Lever’s house, 408 College St.

RCAM meeting

LEEDS — The 40th annual meeting of the Rural Community Action Ministry will begin at 6:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, at the office on 81 Church Hill Road.

The regular business meeting will include the election of a new slate of board officers. The public is invited to attend.

Legion meeting

LEWISTON — Post 22 American Legion will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at the Lewiston Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St. Unit 22 Auxiliary will meet at 5:15 p.m. at the same location. Service Officer Joseph Paradis has scheduled guest speakers from the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris.

Joel Dutton, administrator, and Ellie Newell, RNC admissions coordinator, will speak about veterans who are seeking admission to the home and the eligibility of all concerned. Brochures will be available. There will be a 50/50 raffle and prizes.

Parent night

LISBON — The annual Senior Student/Parent Night will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the high school library. There will be a presentation on the process of applying to college and what colleges expect of their applicants. Students are highly encouraged to attend.
